12 schools attend cricket fest
More than twelve schools attended the ICC Academy’s Schools Cricket Festival, which was organised to celebrate the end of Term Two of programmes here.
Nearly 65 children from these schools attended the event, which featured several prestigious educations including the GEMS Academy, JESS Jumeirah, Jumeirah Primary School and Nord Anglia International School.
With kids from these schools normally trained alongside their fellow schoolmates during training sessions, the event was a great opportunity for them to make new friends and create bonds of closeness that stay with them for life.
To top off the festival, the kids were paired up into two teams and faced off against each other in a cricket match. Truth be told, it was not the result of the match that mattered on the day, but the togetherness, harmony and team spirit that these children forged with each other: characteristics that would have provided them much to learn from.
At the end, all of the kids received certificates of completion following the end of Term Two: a richly deserved reward, given the perseverance, dedication and hard work they’ve shown. No doubt, they will be back for more in the future!
