Challengers Cup Returns

Home | Challengers Cup Returns

The ICC Academy is pleased to announce the return of the Challengers Cup on the 21st of March.

A unique indoor tournament and the first of it’s kind in the UAE, the Challengers Cup features 27 teams split into three groups: the Gold, Silver and Bronze.

With a total of more than AED 10,000 to be won by participating teams, this tournament represents a wonderful opportunity for those who love the gentleman’s game.

The last edition of the three groups of the Cup were won by Oxford Marine, BPN and IM Galadari respectively.

Featuring a unique format, teams field eight players at a time, with each pair of batsmen batting for three overs each. Every time a wicket falls, five runs are deducted from that team’s scoreline, making for a very exciting, enthralling and ultimately unpredictable finish to each match, ensuring no two matches ever run the same way.

Registrations for the next season of the Challengers Cup are now open. To register and for further inquiries, please email Mahesh Mondkar at MaheshM@iccacademy.net or call the ICC Academy on +971 (0)4 4481355.

Please note that places are limited, and will be offered on a first-come first-serve basis only. We also request teams to arrive for matches at least 15 minutes before they are scheduled to begin as a late arrival could mean an undue fixture congestion, delaying other team’s matches in the process.

All of the action of the Challengers Cup takes place at the world-class indoor net facilities at the ICC Academy, which in the past has hosted several international cricket teams including Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, the UAE, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Ireland and Scotland.
