Indoor Cricket returns with Challengers Cup 2015
Indoor cricket returns to the ICC Academy with Challenges Cup 2015. The three tier indoor cricket tournament is set to commence on the 22nd January with 30 teams battling for the top prize.
The three tier format is maintained following its success from the previous indoor tournaments, ensuring teams of all caliber are given a chance to play and compete amongst equals.
The gold division will see 6 top teams gunning for glory while Silver and Bronze will host 12 teams each in this upcoming Indoor Cricket offering at the ICC Academy.
As many as nine new teams featured in the previous Challengers Cup held at the Indoor facility – a playing arena that is often visited by cricket’s elite.
ICC Academy Tournament Lead Mahesh Mondkar has urged teams and other cricket outfits to register their team for the Challengers Cup 2015.
“A chance to play at our world class Indoor facility is perhaps the biggest give away for our indoor cricket tournament,” he said, pointing out the presence of International teams like Pakistan, Australia and New Zealand in the recent months.
“Indoor cricket at the ICC Academy is different from the other venues with the biggest facility that we have, a wicket or two here can change the game and we have seen some exciting contests over the years,” he added.
“The Gold Division puts 6 top teams in the same pool which not only provides exciting indoor cricket, but also makes the silver and bronze division highly competitive.”
