Home | Know Our Coaches: George McCaffrey

It’s hard not to spot GeorgeMcCaffrey when he’s out on the pitch. The lanky Liverpudlian has been associated with the ICC Academy since 2009, and has been regularly coaching the Under-7s, Under-9s and Bronze Warriors at the Home of Elite Cricket.

Formerly a part-time coach with us, in addition to his coaching responsibilities, George has now joined the ICC Academy as our full-time Fixtures Officer.

Having earned his Level 1 coaching qualifications from the ICCA, George’s previous experience has moulded him into an excellent educator for the youngsters at the Academy.

A graduate of Durham County Cricket Club’s Academy, George went on to represent their team, learning from many international and county cricket professionals such as former England international Paul Collingwood.

George has also had stints at the Derbyshire and Hampshire county cricket clubs, where he regularly featured in their playing XI. His time in English domestic cricket has given him an innate understanding of the sort of technique that is vital to succeeding on the pitch.

George’s exposure to a variety of different cricketing cultures has also added much to his knowledge of the game. He’s also spent some time in Australia with outfit North Canberra Gungahlin, where he played alongside legendary New Zealand cricketer Chris Cairns.

With such a wealth of sporting knowledge and experience to his name, and with the best years ahead of him, George will ensure your child gets the education he deserves to get to the top.
