Know Our Coaches: Mudassar Nazar
Mudassar Nazar, our Head of Cricket Development, is a former Pakistan batsman, with 76 Test and 122 ODI caps to his name. Respected globally for his knowledge of the game, Mudassar’s coaching resume as equally impressive as his cricketing CV, having coached the Pakistan and Kenya National Cricket Teams, in addition to a host of other developmental roles.
With 10 centuries and 17 half-centuries to his name in the long-form of the game, Mudassar, son of former Test batsman Nazar Mohammed, was known on the pitch for his elegant strokes and deft gameplay, often getting his country out of a tough situation. He registered a top score of a whopping 231 in Test Whites.
He was also an expert in the One Day International version. With a top score of 95, he totalled 2653 runs. He also picked up 111 wickets, with a career best of 28/5. His Test bowling figures read 66 wickets from 96 innings, once taking six wickets for just 32 runs in an inning.
Prior to joining the ICC Academy, Mudassar was Director of Development at the Pakistan Cricket Board where he established the National Academy and Coach Education programmes. Mudassar now leads the Cricket Development team at ICC Academy, working closely with the Emerging Players Programme as well as supporting the UAE National Team as batting coach.
