An A-level coach from the National Cricket Academy in India, Roopa helped foster a culture of sportsmanship, team spirit and cooperation while she was coach of the Under-16 Karnataka State Cricket Team that participated at the All India National Championship in 2000.

She also represented the India South Zone Team that topped the Senior Inter Zone Championship held in Delhi in 2003, and led her state team on an undefeated campaign during the All India Junior South Zone Championship Cricket Tournament held in Bangalore that same year.

Roopa is very well versed with what it takes to develop the sport in children, having played for her state team at various levels for over 10 years, ranging from the sub-junior to the senior levels.

It is a unique experience that has helped her immensely during her metamorphosis from player to coach, which immediately paid rich dividends when she coached her university team, which became one of the top teams in inter-university cricket during her time in charge from 2001 to 2004.

In addition, she also has plenty of hands-on experience organising summer camps and training workshops for State Junior and Senior Teams.

With such a wealth of varied, storied experience to her name, we are sure Roopa will mould many future stars at the Home of Elite Cricket.
