Pakistan ‘A’ complete series win over England Lions
England had raced to a 2-0 lead after as many games in the series, therefore, favourites to clinch the 5 match ODI series. Khurram Manzoor had other ideas as he scored a 113 at the top of the innings in the 3rd ODI to propel Pakistan to 289. England fell short by 17 runs and thus kept their hopes alive of winning the series.
In the 4th ODI, Pakistan bundled out England for 181 and avoided a batting collapse themselves to take the series to the series decider. Pakistan A’s spinners combined effectively after England had made a flying start with an opening stand of 60 in less than 10 overs between James Vince and Dawid Malan. But the next-best stand was 36 between Malan and Liam Dawson as the innings ended with five-and-a-half overs unused.
Pakistan A completed their comeback from 2-0 down to take the unofficial ODI series against England Lions with a hard-fought three-wicket win at the ICC Academy in Dubai Sports City. Fakhar Zaman was the man to thank, finishing with figures of 5 for 27 with the ball before mustering 62 off 65 balls to help ease Pakistan’s win the game and the series.
